As we were wandering through Chapel Hill yesterday I was realizing that I am looking old, unhip and certainly wouldn't pass as a traditional student anymore. Not that I was really ever "hip." Anyway, this reality was hit home when I remember that I was walking around with an Elmo potty seat in my backpack. Wow! Times have changed.
On a positive note, Natalie used the potty seat successfully, so my efforts were not in vain.
Yep. We're old.
ReplyDeleteI feel y'all's pain. (Is it ok to use two apostrophes in one word?)
ReplyDeleteI was never hip to begin with, but now I'm unhip AND 10 years older than these people now in college!
My world, instead of all-nighters, the Rat, the Pit, and Franklin St. Halloween...it now consists of trains, bugs, and sidewalk chalk.
All are precious memories. Love the pics of Chapel Hill & your family!
Carrying a potty seat in your backpack is 100% Mommy and I'm sure you wouldn't trade it for the world!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a sad day when you're definitely too old to pass for a college girl....And, I must add, it happens WAY earlier than I thought it would. Finally, being unhip is nothing new....you never were cool enough to wear an empty bookbag :)
